Risk Disclosure

The risks of trading, and of using matrades, in plain language.

Last updated: v1.0~5 min read

In short

  • Trading can lose you money. It can lose you all of your money.
  • Nobody — including us — can promise you a profit. Anyone who does is selling a fantasy.
  • Everything we give you is education and tools, not advice, and not a managed account. Every trade happens in your own account, on your own decision.
  • Our automated software runs on your own broker account. Software can break. You stay in control and you carry the risk.

This page is written in plain English so you actually read it. It is part of, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms govern.

Most signal sellers hide their losses. We publish every trade — winners and losers. That honesty is also why we are blunt about risk: if you are not comfortable with everything below, please do not trade, and please do not buy.

1. Trading is high-risk

#

Trading foreign exchange, contracts for difference (CFDs), futures, cryptocurrencies, and other leveraged or speculative instruments carries a high level of risk. Prices move fast and against you. These products are not suitable for everyone.

You can lose some, all, or — with leverage — more than the money you put in. Only ever trade with money you can genuinely afford to lose, money that will not affect your life if it is gone.

2. Leverage cuts both ways

#

Leverage lets a small amount of capital control a much larger position. That magnifies gains — and it magnifies losses just as fast. A small move against a leveraged position can wipe out your account quickly. The more leverage you use, the more risk you take.

3. Past and back-tested results do not predict the future

#

Any performance figure you see anywhere from us — on the performance dashboard, in example trades, in screenshots, in testimonials, in a back-test, or in a lesson — is historical or illustrative. It is not typical, and it is not a promise.

  • Past performance does not indicate or guarantee future results.
  • Back-tested and hypothetical results have real limitations. They are calculated with hindsight, they do not involve real money, and they do not reflect real slippage, spread, latency, or the emotional reality of trading. Real results are usually different — often worse.
  • Individual results vary. Most people who try any trading approach do not match the best examples shown.

4. We do not guarantee any profit or income

#

We do not guarantee any profit, income, return, or specific result — ever. You are paying for access to education, tools, and software. You are not paying for a profit, and no profit is owed to you. No result is promised, implied, or guaranteed.

5. Automated trading software carries its own specific risks

#

The MA Model Trading Bot, and MA AI, are automated trading software (a cTrader cBot and/or MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor). When you enable them, they automatically place, modify, and close real orders in your own broker or prop-firm account, without you approving each trade one by one.

Automated software can, and sometimes will:

  • malfunction, freeze, crash, or behave unexpectedly because of a software bug;
  • disconnect, lag, or miss orders because of latency, an internet drop, a VPS failure, or a broker or platform outage;
  • place duplicate, rapid, or unintended orders before you can step in;
  • execute at prices very different from what you expected during price gaps, low liquidity, or high volatility.

These are inherent risks of running any automated trading software. When you run our software you accept them.

You stay in control. You connect your own broker. You choose the risk and position-size settings. You decide when it runs, and you can pause or disable it at any time. You are responsible for monitoring it and for the consequences of leaving it running. Please do not run it unattended beyond your own risk tolerance.

6. Your results will differ from any signal or example

#

Even when everything works, the result in your account can differ materially from a signal, a back-test, or an example — because of slippage, spread, latency, execution quality, your broker's conditions, your leverage, your account size, your risk settings, connectivity, downtime, and simply the timing of your setup. We do not guarantee uptime, execution quality, or that the software's behaviour will match any signal or example.

7. This is not investment advice, and not a managed account

#

Everything we provide — signals, the MA Model Trading Bot, MA AI, indicators, education, mentorship, and community discussion — is for general educational and informational purposes only. It is:

  • not personalised financial, investment, trading, legal, or tax advice;
  • not a recommendation or solicitation to buy or sell anything;
  • not a managed account, and not us trading on your behalf.

We do not know your personal circumstances and we do not give personal advice. matrades (matrades.net) is not a licensed or regulated broker, adviser, or financial institution, and is not registered with or supervised by any financial regulatory authority. We never receive, hold, or control your funds, and we have no trading or withdrawal authority over your account. Before making any financial decision, speak to a licensed professional in your country.

The MA Model signal is generic and identical for every user — it is not personalized to you. You set all execution parameters and can override, pause, or disable the MA Model Trading Bot at any time; every trade runs on your own account under your own configuration, not as advice or managed trading.

8. Your broker's and prop firm's rules are your responsibility

#

Some brokers and prop firms restrict or prohibit automated trading, expert advisors, or copy-trading. You are responsible for knowing and following your broker's and prop firm's rules, and you are solely liable for any breach and for any resulting loss, suspension, or penalty.

9. You trade at your own risk

#

You are solely responsible for your own trading decisions and their outcomes. Any decision to act — or not act — on anything we provide is entirely your own, made at your own discretion and risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any trade you place or fail to place, or for any profit or loss.
