In short
- We use a few essential cookies to run the site and keep you signed in — these are always on.
- We only set analytics or marketing cookies after you say yes. Nothing non-essential runs until you opt in.
- You can change your mind any time using the Cookie settings link in our footer.
This Cookie Policy explains how matrades (matrades.net) uses cookies and similar technologies. It is part of, and should be read alongside, our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
#Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, tags) work the same way. They let a site remember you, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used.
2. The categories we use
#Essential (always on). Needed for the site to work. They keep you signed in, secure the sign-in flow, remember your language, and remember your cookie choices. The site cannot function properly without these, so they do not require consent.
Analytics (only with your consent). Help us understand how the site and dashboard are used — which pages are viewed, which features are used — so we can improve them. These are only set after you opt in.
Marketing (only with your consent). Used to measure and improve our campaigns and, where applicable, to show or attribute advertising. These are only set after you opt in. We currently do not run advertising retargeting; this category is listed so the choice is available if that changes.
3. How we ask for consent
#When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you Accept all, Reject all, or Manage your choices by category. No analytics or marketing cookie is set before you opt in. Essential cookies load because the site needs them. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and your choice is remembered.
4. The legal basis
#- Essential cookies: our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure service (no consent required).
- Analytics and marketing cookies: your consent, which you give through the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time.
5. How to manage or withdraw consent
#- Use the Cookie settings link in the site footer at any time to change your choices — it reopens the same controls.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the Service may stop working.
- We re-ask for your consent periodically (about every 12 months) and whenever the categories change.
6. Third parties that may set cookies
#Some cookies are set by the providers we use to run the Service. Depending on your choices and the pages you visit, these may include:
- Hosting & security — Cloudflare — essential delivery and security.
- Sign-in — Google (optional sign-in) — authentication, if you use it.
- Community — Discord — where community content is embedded.
- Analytics provider — used only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Payment processor — during checkout, to process payment securely.
Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
7. Changes
#We may update this Cookie Policy as our tools change. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, refresh the consent request.
